Just ahead of my book signing event at the Grass Roots Book Store August 18th 2pm in Corvallis, Oregon, the Corvallis Advocate newspaper published a review of my book.  I am humbled and most appreciative of the favorable and interesting report.  I agree that the non-fiction nature and honest account of my family’s challenges living and coping with PTSD is no literary masterpiece, but as most will say it succeeds as a case study and stimulates lively conversation.  I thank the Corvallis Advocate and Nathaniel Brodie for the highly objective book review.  Following is a quote from the article…

Sure, significant strides have been made in recognizing and treating PTSD since Vietnam and World War II. But make no mistake, returning veterans will—and do—suffer from PTSD. As reported by The New York Times, during the early half of 2012, the suicide rate among the nation’s active-duty military personnel outpaced active war deaths.”
