Sesame Street “on-line” for Military Families Near and Far…

Sesame Street for Military Families…

Sesame Street…”Talk, Listen, Connect…” was shared some months ago on this blog.  Now Sesame Street has a new more robust and dynamic site for military families to engage on-line… Following is an excerpt from my post…

“Go to the above website(s) at Sesame Street Workshop and check out how puppets are educating military families on the challenges of extended deployments and returning combat veterans who transition back to civilian life. I can say from my own experience as a WWII & Korean War child challenged with my Dad’s confusing and angry behaviors, that this sort of program would have made a difference in understanding more clearly what was happening. None of this was available, so my family spent years afraid and alone, and were finally affected with the same challenges as adults.  I write passionately and with healing value regarding this subject in my book.”

It is not easy to articulate the challenges of deployment and life after war adjustments for military children and families.  Sesame Street makes it so much easier as a friendly and on-line reference and resource.  If you have not already taken advantage of the value of Sesame Street’s great work on behalf of military families, especially children, please click on the websites above and learn more.
